Orange of Melania’s Manteau

The path curves gently through the meadow
Greened by the Spring drizzle of last night.
Not the harsh Winter storm of the East,
We forget also the wildfire blazes of the Summer past.
In this pleasant pastoral Saturday,
We ignore the heralding of multiple crises ahead.
Now that Florida has swallowed the barker,
The news seems boring, drained of fake drama.
Its face is placid, except for the orange of Melania’s manteau.
