Red Berries
Red berries, on bare trees,
Survivors of semi-freeze.
Daffodils by the pond,
Nile lilies tagging along.
Now renowned in
Their five minutes of the sun.
The blossoms of the trees
Yet to come,
Lagging behind.
…
The pear tree, hidden around the corner
Now flaunts its flowers.
I am here, it says,
48 days before Spring!
