Behold the first rays of the sun

Reflected on neighbor’s wall.

The red-orange beauty.

Is that nature, or art

Because of human intervention?

Does it have to be intentional

Or just a “sounding board?”

By humans or other animals too?

Is there poetry when the birds sing?

Arias or recitatives?

What about the inanimate?

The running water of rivers?

Need it be active, or just inert?

Half Dome and Sedona’s red hills.

Is light required?

What if I see them in my mind,

Dark with no moon or sunshine?

Is art objective

Or the figment of my imagination?
